Batu-helmed imprint Timedance use their ninth release to cast back over a couple of the previous eight. Roping in Stenny, Asusu and Mosca for remix duties, the trio tackle dubs from TIMEDANCE004 (Lurka’s Beater) and 006 (Bruce’s I’m Alright Mate). Stenny’s crack at ‘Beater’ is huge and menacing, calling to mind the best of fellow Bristolian imprints Livity Sound and Hotline, while Asusu ratchets up ‘I’m Alright Mate’ into a fast roller fit for the Berghain. Mosca’s version of ‘Post Rave Wrestle’ is the most unusual track here, with a slow and distorted techno groove placed against B-movie organs and ghoulish feedback. ‘Bax’ it most certainly ain’t.
