Metrist returns to Batu's Timedance label to complete his Pollen trilogy with yet another EP of bass-heavy exploration. Metrist again pulls a neat trick in that, much its title suggests, this is deeply elemental music, replete with frequencies that seem to intoxicate and rattle around in your circulatory system. ‘Higher Higher Down’ and the closing ‘Bullet Time’ utilize entrancing vocal hits to cut through the blaring, tactile haze, but it's the ping-ponging steamlike synths on ‘Ark Specific’ that stuns most of all.
