The first in a series of EPs under the Diving Bird banner, Andy Mac is back in the thick of Bristol dub culture. Idle Hands have always been rooted in dub, with early releases by Peverelist and Kowton carving a path for the post-dubstep techno sound. Andy Mac first released on Idle Hands in 2013 and this second collaboration is well overdue. Like his first Idle Hands EP, Diving Bird is heavily influenced by sound system culture. ‘Longships’ is stripped back dub with a muted techno structure, while ‘10’ takes a beatless wonder through more ambient sounds.
