Montreal based producer Ramzi brings us seven tracks for the Total Stasis label, keeping the flame burning for the fourth world continuum. Navigating through her various guises (Big Bird, Houti et al), Phoebe Guillemot channels a distinctly unique musical landscape that sees traditional notions of dance music flipped and skewed beyond recognition. Wally Badarou samples, animal cries and comfortably assuring piano lines merge together with highlife and Middle Eastern influences in a way which sounds undeniably refreshing for contemporary dance parties. However, Phobiza Dia is in equal parts a mind-melting home listen as it is an aid for adventurous dj’s.
