Out now on L.A. label Total Stasis, internet icon Regularfantasy aka Liv Carmen describes ‘Sunsets & Sublets’ as her magnum opus. A concoction of house beats, R&B vocals and stylised garage tendencies, the LP is three years in the making. Based in Vancouver, the artist, singer, producer and self-proclaimed temptress operates under many monikers, including DJ Silk, Bobo Eyes, Plush Throw and Lonely Flute. The personalised lyrics and vocals of Regularfantasy’s work depict a self-effacing and emotionally intuitive character that lends itself easily to the messages of her sentimental yet edgy pop hits. Alongside the likes of Jacques Greene, Project Pablo and Ramzi, Regularfantasy is a clear example of one of the young visionaries pushing Canada’s sound in the unique, thoughtful and laidback direction we currently associate with its electronic music scene.
