Bleep

Seattle based electro artist 214 aka Chris Roman makes a welcome debut on Central Processing Unit, with four cuts of icy beats, bass and bleeps that feel very of the times. ‘Overbridge’ bangs in an off-kilter fashion, fitted with pandering synth lines but pretty straight percussive elements, with your typical tssssing hi-hats. ‘Fuel Cells’ begins with an almost deathly, animalistic synth sound, that soon makes way for a rumbling acid tinged bassline. On the flip side, ‘Keep Right’ sticks to the acid theme, though its floaty chords add a more delicate side to it. Drum work on this on is also right on.
