Ten years in the game, Brooklyn experimental pop band Yeasayer make it album number four on new home, Mute. Heavily influenced by the sculptor David Altmejd (the band also collaborate on music video and artwork), Amen Goodbye is a highly visual, kaleidoscopic work; full of colour and tone, digital and analogue collisions, high-concept POP. Operating in the same sonic zones as fellow Brooklynites, Gang Gang Dance and Dirty Projectors, Yeasayer are pushing the framework of what alternative pop can be – psychedelic, deeply strange, surreal but always, always with a hook never far away.
