Aisha Devi’s wonderful Houndstooth LP gets a suite of club remixes. The Swiss/Nepalese-Tibetan producer’s 2015 album was a thing of eclectic spiritual beauty, and the artists here do well to maintain that element. Irish techno duo Lakker flip the stately progression of ‘Anatomy of Light’ by adding frenetic drums, and also upgrade the solo vocal to a whole synthetic choir. ‘Kim & the Wheel of Life’ gets remixed by Throwing Shade, who turns in a rather more placid version, the fairground melody of the original buried under sheets of icy noise. Of the two takes on ‘Mazdâ’, Mind:Body:Fitness realises the potential of the original’s hypnotic trance shadows, while Killing Sound’s spooky rework features MC/vocalists Rafael Shafique and Bogues.
