Anthony Naples’ Proibito label has been killing it recently with releases from Hank Jackson, Huerco S. and Naples himself. Next up is a 12” from Hi and Saberhägen, two friends from Glasgow who debuted on Huntleys & Palmers last year with their self-titled EP. ‘Qyzyland’ consists of three more adventurous house tracks. ‘Tom Party’ is a moody tribal drum workout complete with robot noises and sparkling crystal synths. The title track is deathly slow disco, like wading through a vat of molasses, especially when that penetrating bass comes in. Although the mood lightens significantly in the second half, eventually blossoming into a beautiful melodic rose garden. ‘Jardinez’ advances on this mood, twisting it into a feeling of blissful suspension.
