Arguably NYC’s, and possibly the world’s first deep-reggaeton artist, DJ Python’s debut 12” sounds completely of the now. Merging cavernous, languid chords and wholly rumbling bass tones with dembow structures, the outcome is some of the most invitingly danceable, deepness you’re likely to come across. Both ‘Tranquila’ and ‘Sunset Drive’ start on the dembow rhythm, the former coloured with a bubbling, sweet as a coconut melodic line and delicate and jittery shuffling percussive hits. While the latter is driven on with the pulsating bass and dubbed out to the max chords, with clicks constantly shifting pattern. ‘Cuidado’ keeps all its elements filtered way, way down in the mix for that real deepness.
