Incredible trans-Atlantic collab, Girlz with Gunz is a 27-minute, 11-song EP. It is Chimurenga Renaissance’s first release for Glitterbeat Records, in anticipation of a forthcoming LP. Chimurenga Renaissance features Tendai Maraire, from the widely acclaimed Seattle hip-hop group, Shabazz Palaces. Maraire comes from a proud Zimbabwean musical legacy and here he calls on those traditions, those histories, those sonics alongside partner in Chimurenga Renaissance, guitarist Hussein Kalonji, a first generation Congolese American born in Washington DC, and a host of guests.
