Veteran DJ and Global traveller Gilles Peterson serves up some more of the good stuff with this new ambitious project from Cuba released on his own, Brownswood imprint. Havana Club Rumba Sessions, is a three-part project including a documentary depicting the lineage of rumba music on the island. It is subtitled La Clave, in reference to the rhythmic tool used in Afro-Cuban music. Alongside the main body of original music(s) is a remix album featuring a line-up of Peterson allies and collaborators international artists and a free sample pack. The line-up for the remix album includes Japanese producers Daisuke Tanabe and Yosi Horikawa, Montreal’s Poirier, France’s debruit, London’s Al Dobson Jr, Mo Kolours, and Reginald Mamode IV, and Germany’s Motor City Drum Ensemble among others.
