London Afrobeat ensemble Kokoroko celebrate the one-year anniversary of their debut LP Could We Be More with this remix package featuring most of its expansive tracklist. A family affair of sorts, as each artist brought on to retool the Be More work has either a personal or geographical connection to Kokoroko’s sprawling eight piece lineup. Touching Bass collective members Eun and Demae’s smooth-as-silk house turn on ‘Tojo’ and Vanyfox’s jazzily ambient take on ‘Ewà Inú’ are obvious highlights, but this project is heard best (much like the album) as a whole.
