The third and fourth volumes of Ras G's Raw Fruit series. Initially conceived as a cassette project for Stones Throw offshoot Leaving Records, it is no surprise that this series has found its way to wax. As a pioneering figure in the rich and crowded landscape of the LA beat scene these instalments of Raw Fruit show the breadth and depth of Ras’ repertoire and – most importantly – the seemingly bottomless crate of records he holds in the lab. Reaching for samples from freeform jazz, afro-futurism and and colourful fusion records to make instrumentals like no other.
