D-Malice, the brains behind UK funky classic ‘Gabryelle (Refix)’, combines sitars, Indian flutes, and tabla hits with a funky rhythmic backbone on ‘Indian Time’. The track flew under most people’s radars when it was first released through D-Malice’s own digital label DM Recordings in 2014, but thankfully it managed to catch the attention of the folks at ace London label Don’t Be Afraid. They’re issuing this re-release through DBA Dubs, a 10” series that pairs a house track by a British artist with a techno remix by a North American one. On the b-side here, Toronto’s Basic Soul Unit turns ‘Indian Time’ into a big room thumper.
