Cliff Martinez worked on parts of the soundtrack for 2008’s Spore alongside Brian Eno, but his work on Far Cry 4 is the first time that the former Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer has composed an entire video game score alone. Martinez delivers a series of tense short pieces here that combine the rich atmospheres of his music for films like Drive and Traffic with elements of acid techno and industrial rock. The influence of various global styles - Indian raga and Peruvian pan flute to name but two - can also be felt here.
