Originally released in 1995 by IDM pioneer Uwe Schmidt under his Silver Sound alias, the elusive German composer has remastered the release under the Atom TM guise and restored it’s experimental postmodern glory. Opener Congo features a vocal contribution from Lisa Carbon and swings between glitchy ambience to nu-jazz shapelessness in truly hypnotic fashion. Other highlights come in the form of the extraterrestrial synth hooks of Past Life and the amorphous noise manipulation of Digital Fields Forever. In 1995 the record was a captivating opus that stretched technology and instrumentation beyond recognition. Now remastered for the millennial masses, it sounds just as enchanting.
