Coming through with 4 unique collaborative efforts, Boxcutter and Defcon pair shady beat workouts with carefully warped vocals to showcase their unique stance on typical club soundtracks. Phonetic Flex showcases this vision perfectly with a down-pitched vocal paving the way for a crisp drum breakdown. We’re then gifted with New Yen where a steady light-trap beat tiptoes across a poolside melody. There are occasional blasts of off-kilter clamour to remind you that it’s not all plain sailing. Experimental jazz stalwart Kaidi Tatham then brings his midas touch to Skylights before this infectiously floor-friendly EP closes.
