Kevin Morby, formerly of Brooklyn folk band Woods, returns with a second solo album. Still Life was written during a year of constant touring for Morby with songs like ‘The Jester, The Tramp, The Acrobat’ and ‘Parade’ inspired by a life lived on the road and in the spotlight. Elsewhere, Morby wrestles with more existential matters: ‘Bloodsucker’ and ‘Amen’ both meditations on the nature of death. It’s also an album that sees Morby broadening his sound by enlisting multi instrumentalist Will Canzoneri, who provides piano, organ and horns on tracks like ‘Parade’ and ‘Amen’.
