Sacramento's Copenhagen-based CHLLNGR drops his second album on LA's Time No Place label. Steven Jess Borth II presents a collection of pop and R&B-laced electronics, soul tied up in the deep frequencies of dub. Recorded in an expansive setup in Copenhagen, the album features guests like up-and-coming vocalist JOSIAHWISE IS THE SERPENTWITHFEET, Blaqstarr, Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild of When Saints Go Machine and DELS, yet retains CHLLNGR's own sound and style. A heady blend of synths, brass and pop, it's a solid step forward for this artist.
