Optimo Music presents a debut release from London-based outfit Shift Work. Their Scaled To Fit EP reprocesses common sounds, scintillating synth work and slick rhythm into something ripe for the ‘floor. JD Twitch’s searing edit of ‘Patience’ sets the tone with its assured stomp and bitty background noise whereas ‘Associations’ is a drier take with added spliced film dialogue. The two pieces ‘Scaled To Fit’ and ‘[Less] Merchandise’ demonstrate more scolded, analogue arpeggios, however it's the short, and bizarre ‘AMB’ interludes on the EP that cleverly break up the beat heavy constructions and give the release its odd ball characteristics.
