More ocean-deep dub tech from Icelandic producer Yagya, courtesy of Delsin Records. His fifth full-length, while no less emotive or atmospheric than past works, places a new emphasis on drums and grooves. He also wisely locks into a steady tempo for the entire duration, giving the project a cyclical quality that begs repeated listens. Highlights include the contrasting dub chords and twinkling keys on ‘Sleepygirl 1’, the expansive ‘Sleepygirl 5’ and the gorgeous muted sax on ‘Sleepygirl 8’.
