Berlin based, Mexican born producer Cesar Urbina aka Cubenx links with InFine for another grab bag of tech/house goodies. Urbina’s latest EP manages to be his most emotive and most floor-ready material yet. ‘Mercurial’ is as moody as it is anthemic, thick bass and crisp drum work played perfectly against the longing vocal from Cyane Quijano. ‘First Wave Front’ rolls then soars to its emotional climax, while the searching synths of ‘Saunter’ could easily soundtrack the pursuit of a lovely stranger through a strobe-lit club. Still, it’s the dazzling nine-plus minute closer ‘Parvada Nocturna’ that steals the show.
