Domino Records presents the second LP from Canadian composer, violinist, keyboardist and vocalist Owen Pallett entitled In Conflict – a follow up to his wave-making 2010 debut Heartland. The release features assistance from Brian Eno on synthesizer and vocals as well as contributions from the Czech FILMharmonic Orchestra whose rich, textured sound lends a heavy influence to dramatic opener ‘I’m Not Afraid’ and the dazzling ‘On A Path’. ‘Song For Five & Six’ draws on a stronger electronic influence, perfectly balancing simplistic drum machine elements with Pallett’s choir-like vocals and an orchestrated backdrop whilst ‘The Riverbed’ is a devastating epic, drenched in tension from a riotous drum beat and assured violin strings.
