A mysterious entry from a new artist on Four Tet's Text label made up of four crunchy house numbers that are sure to get bodies on the floor. 'Gar's Highway' pits gated riffs and chants against a pummelling percussion line, while unresolved chords imbue the track with untold tension. 'Gonna Rain' is part classic house, part bombastic experimentalism, all parts killer. 'Streetways' similarly takes vocals hooks and off-putting acid blasts and meets in the middle for dance floor destruction, and 'Doug's Prayer' throws its reverbed claps and piano stabs together for wild invention. We don't know who Taraval is, but who cares when this record is so much fun.
