Four Tet steps away from 2022’s ‘Mango Feedback’ and his KH dance material into a more abstract realm befitting of his recent remaster for Fridge’s Happiness. ‘Three Drums’ is awash with choppy metal rain and cymbal waves breaking, an undercurrent of pads moving them along into the idyllic scenes of velvet strings and phase shifting melody lying on top. Soft loops become harsh and coarse with noise as they hurtle towards the finish, capturing the overwhelming lushness of the land, humming and buzzing and vibrating in the aftermath.
