Deek Records triumvirate Nautic reassemble for another EP, their follow-up to 2013’s Fresh Eyes/Fixx single. The trio, consisting of Nathan Jenkins aka Bullion, Tic Zogson and Laura Groves (formerly Blue Roses) continue to gel creatively, crafting brilliant 80’s affected pop tunes in several different configurations. ‘Show’ is a sunny, hand-percussion led duet between Jenkins and Groves, the saxophone lead-out a pretty bow on top. ‘Make It Work’ features syrupy synths and a strong guest vocal from Londoner Laura Coulson, while ‘Freedom On The Floor’ features Groves flying solo over a lush house arrangement. ‘Navy Blue’, the closer and title track, overflows with reverb-rich guitar, shimmery synths and enough gorgeous male/female vocal melodies to hold you until the next EP.
