Ki Records presents the debut full-length from Londoners Nick Smith and Benn Corr, known together as Colo. The duo’s sound is hard to place, drawing on everything from ambient to techno. Smith’s ghostly vocals fill out the polished productions, and are effectively used in a variety of different modes. Standouts include downtempo opener ‘Holiday’, sci-fi synth-fest ‘Survivability Inside The Bubble’ and the title track, a surprisingly straightforward take on dub-techno. Smith’s fragile vocal shines on the anthemic ‘The View From Nowhere’, and the gorgeous, stripped-back ‘Doorframe’.
