American Indie band Warpaint follow up their highly praised 2010 album ‘The Fool’ with a greatly anticipated second and self-titled record for Rough Trade which promises to build on their growing reputation. ‘Biggy’ takes a smudgy post-punk crawl, complete with synths which are alternately glistening and alluringly mucky, and adds Cocteau Twins-esque vocals to make a compelling mixture. ‘Love Is To Die’ achieves a similarly delicate balancing act, this time with sensual call and response vocals from the lead and backing singers which are propped up by more expansive guitar lines.
