Released in November 2009, CFCF’s debut album ‘Continent’ gets a re-release from Paper Bag Records, just as new album ‘Outside’ is released. The LP is an intriguing slice of this prolific artist’s output, drawing upon the ‘80s pop templates he clearly reveres with a clean production that marks him out from the nostalgia projects targeted at this era from the likes of Oneohtrix Point Never, Hype Willams and 1991. Whether it’s the boogie synth bass line in ‘Inviation to Love’, the stadium guitar that soars over ‘You Hear Colours’, or the cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Big Love’, there’s much pleasure to be had from CFCF’s high fidelity nostalgia trip.
