Dominick Fernow’s has released a prolific stream of vinyl and cassette rarities as Vatican Shadow in recent years, and ‘Remember Your Black Day’ sees him arrive with a new album for his own Hospital Productions label. Featuring production by Sandwell District’s Juan Mendez, a.k.a. Silent Servant, the LP continues Fernow’s obsession with political imagery and violent unease with titles such as ‘Tonight Saddam Walks Amongst Ruins’ inducing visualisations of the situations described by the music’s pounding and wilfully monotonous landscape. Promising to be a vital addition to the strain of soul-searching masochistic noise-techno, one can only wait for this forthcoming record with baited breath.
