The second of René Pawlowitz’s Wax reissues takes us back to Berlin 2013, where the genre-hopping producer was hard at work on some high quality but experimental dub techno. The two cuts here show just how clearly he’d perfected his sound: on the A-side, a mix of swirling dub pads, ambient fog and faster-paced trance beats (a combination that works, trust us), while on the B side, a crunchier and more madcap banger whose stalled percussion and zigzagging synths are guaranteed to get your brain and body functioning at different speeds.
