Anyone mourning the demise of Sandwell District Records will be pleased to hear founders Karl O’Connor and Juan Mendez have set up Jealous God, with Mendez’ alter ego Silent Servant bringing in Semantica label boss Svreca for this debut release. Four untitled tracks make up ‘Sicario De Dios’: growling, migraine-inducing bass notes on ‘1’; ethereal dub techno on the shimmering ‘3’. If future releases are as immense as this, the Jealous God moniker could become an understatement.
