Düsseldorf combo Kreidler return to the Bureau B label for the seventh time with a new LP entitled Twists (a visitor arrives). Twists acts as a sort of survey for the long-running group, traversing seemingly disparate genres like electro-pop, post-punk, jazz, and afrobeats, while always circling back to the distinct Kreidler sound. The band takes the listener through these sounds gradually: from the hyped electronic bass stabs of opener ‘Polaris’ through the moody downtempo of ‘Kandili’, each step is paved with purpose on this fine showing.
