Finally available on vinyl, Shlohmo's Laid Out EP on Friends of Friends, is another release that cements his status as one of the most interesting producers to emerge from the LA beats scene. His ability to work with vocalists and craft real songs is evident on ‘Don’t Say No’ with a yearning, soulful turn from Tom Krell of How To Dress Well. Elsewhere the trap-infused ‘Out Of Hand’ adds warm synths and skittering drums to create a real emotional punch, something that many of peers would find hard to emulate. A singularly innovative producer, each release adds another layer to his ability - he’s unquestionably an artist to watch out for.
