Folklore Tapes’ latest descent into all things mystical and ritual is a split record dedicated to the 19th/20th century witch Na​ïa who lived in the ruins of Château de Rieux. Having captivated the town of Rochefort-en–Terre and the rest of the world since, Na​ïa inspires a collage of esoteric electronics, gusts of folk instrumentation, and enchanting French spoken word. Pauline Marx AKA Le Diable Dégoûtant transforms mysterious organ sounds with bubbling rubbery synths and chirping cricket percussion, while Sam McLoughlin and David Chatton Barker turn down an almost doom metal-adjacent route with foreboding guitars, noise, and ancient sounding drums.
