A very welcome re-release of Herr Schnitzler’s 1978 electronica landmark ‘Con’, now augmented with hefty chunks of new/old material. Ambient aficionados will know ‘Electric Garden’ with its whooshing synthetic plane engines and alien blips; the same goes for the frantic slab-juggling ‘Zug’, or the feedback heavy ‘Black Nails’. Three spartan 30-minute reworks of ‘Colour’ material beef out this genuinely pioneering record that never passed its sell-by date.
