A collaboration between a Cypress Hill pioneer and a Lynchian disciple may seem out of the blue, but DJ Muggs and Dean Hurley make for an excellent team on their soundtrack to Eddie Alcazar’s Divinity. Following one family’s pursuit for eternal life, and the threat to life it brings, the film is rife with tension and turbulence. Muffled engine rushes and electrical glitters meet chugging industrial rhythms fused with hip hop swagger, with the slamming beats and bursts of noise on ‘Main Titles’ adding action to the soundtrack’s staple ghostly echoes.
