Josh T. Pearson copped a whole heap of praise for Last Of The Country Gentlemen when it was first released in 2011. The album garnered rave reviews from music publications on both sides of the pond and placed highly on many end-of-year lists. It’s easy to see why - this is an album of ambitious folk-country songs that have a rich seam of personal strife running through them. With Pearson breaking a seven-year recording silence in 2018 by releasing his follow-up LP, now seems a good time to reacquaint yourself with his magnum opus.
