Paul Wise, better known as Placid, presents another collection via his We’re Going Deep label of tracks that invites old heads and new to the table. Collecting records since 1988 before launching We’re Going Deep, Wise is a more than capable bellwether for quality techno, acid, and deep house and Volume 6 doesn’t disappoint. Starting with the forebodingly titled opening track “Omikron” by Versalife, the volume oscillates between atmospheric fare and darker electro explorations to properly encapsulate the start of a new year.
