Eddie Symons’ NULLPTR project first emerged in 2016 with his Optical LP, and has steadily chugged out atmospheric electro numbers since. Returning for his third record on CPU, Terminus is a masterclass in deep dancefloor movements as orchestrated by synchronised machines. ‘Connected’ opens with searching mid-range melodies and arctic pads, with a sturdy low end giving it that bit of oomph. ‘Mesospheric Cruise’ dips even deeper on what is the standout here - underwater atmosphere as deep as the Pacific channelled through the medium of electro. ‘Syndicate’ and ‘Terminus’ on the B take you into murkier waters with snarling bassline NRG.
