Australian artist Jackson Bailey, best known for work as Tapes, welcomes us back into his hazy world with Sauna Research. Two tracks of dreamy digi-dub adorn this 7”, with a sound indebted to a world of sacred and scarce library records and eighties synthesizer exploration. The title track could be a lost track from Software’s Digital-Dance or a video game dream sequence as devised by Koji Kondo - blissed-out smoke soundtrack with bonus dub springs. ‘Aquarium Trousers’ takes the same palette of sounds for a cruise in a pared-back Italo-house direction - weightless, aquatic electronica constructed using the finest vintage synths.
