Next up on the Clone West Coast series, an offshoot of the famed Clone enterprise of the Netherlands, comes the Saturn Flow EP by GEN-Y. Fusing parts of ghetto tech, junglist atmospherics, US garage and some playful P-funk, it’s a versatile record sitting on the deeper side of a DJ tool. Feel Like We Used 2 is one of the more melancholy moments on the record but also one of Saturn’s Flows brightest. A nostalgic dip into nineties warehouse music, it harks back to the pioneers like LTJ Bukem et al, replete with expansive pads and a softly meandering rhodes melody.
