Following up the likes of 33EMYBW and Slikback, could there a better place for Nahash’s unthinkable dembow and jungle innovations than SVBKVLT? The producer lands on the label with his screamer of a debut, and there’s little that can prepare a listener for such a magnetic blending of spaced out dub, bass-breaking rhythms and borderline harsh noise. There’s a dystopian sci-fi feel to Flowers of the Revolution, felt throughout the cinematic synths of ‘A Better Future’, which lead into lambasted dancehall numbers like ‘Sangre Y Poder’; with despair comes hope.
