Ascensione Progressiva is an LP of ambitious electronic productions from Alessandro Parisi. The widescreen nature of these tracks is clearly indebted to 80s innovators like Vangelis, but the beats of Ascensione Progressiva also draw from Italo-Disco, acid, trance and dystopian electro to create some really rather singular music. Perhaps it would be best to imagine Parisi’s work as a strange but welcome conflagration of The Advent, John Carpenter and the HI-NRG style.
