Electronic musician and DJ Christ Menist arrives on Shapes of Rhythm with his second full-length LP as Awkward Corners. Dislocation Songs was conceived at a time of unmitigated uncertainty in Menist’s native UK, when an entire country could seem to agree on anything. As such, Menist holds an absurdist mirror to a nation on the fritz through off-kilter funk, alien synth landscapes and janky electronic-meets-acoustic rhythms Four Tet would be proud of.
