LFO were new kids on the block back in the Autumn of 1990. With one (eponymous, game-changing) single to their name, the Sheffield duo taped a session for the John Peel show as Halloween closed in. The four cuts LFO laid down that day showed the world the potential of the Steel City’s bleep-techno sound, their tracks combining twinkling club grooves with the sort of psychedelic production twists you also hear in the work of acts like The Orb and The Future Sound Of London. Here we have the session presented on wax as part of Warp’s thirtieth birthday series.
