There’s a lot to love about this colossal forest of spooks, peopled by ghostly narrators and hazed atmospherics; Swamp, less a record than a psychedelic document extracted from a forgotten plain, invites you to lose yourself and submit to its twisted charms. Berlin-Manchester-Paris musician-poet collective Fith summon the spirit of a whole lineage of experimental music on their second release, recalling Holger Czukay and Coil one moment, and Franz Kafka the next. Still, there’s nothing quite like this in any era.
