Ísar Logi Arnarsson - better known as Cold - and James Bernard reenter the chill-out zone with their shared split of laser-tinted 90s rave epics. The twin-headed serpent of sound, unleashed by the Ziggy Devriendt-run Stroom label, makes a striking case for the longevity of their opposed cortexes. Cold cut ‘Strobe Light Network’ never really left the clubs of Berlin since its mid-90s debut, its celestial pinwheeling careening like the great arms of the Milky Way. James Bernard’s ‘Lapis Lazuli’ is something measurably darker; the lonely, home sick space craft careering the galaxy in search of parts unknown.
