Reissue of a UK club classic here. The 1990 LP International Smoke Signals by No Smoke emerged at a time when acid house was beginning to cross-pollinate with breakbeat and deep house. No Smoke’s genius was to put a heavy dose of Afrofuturism into the mix in the form of samples, spoken word passages and massed vocals (the latter coming courtesy of The Mali Singers). Legends Manu Dibango and Jazzie B guest on the title track.
